Our Purpose

FLSOM was founded in 2006 with the intent purpose of providing a place where men and women can be trained for the work of the ministry in the local church, as well as helping them fulfill the call to five-fold ministry.

Ephesians 4: 11-16 11 And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, 12 for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ,13 till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; 14 that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, 15 but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ— 16 from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love.

Our foundational principles are character, excellence, passion and wisdom.

Wisdom – it is the goal of this institution to prepare you for the work of the ministry, with an emphasis on the present day ministry of the Holy Spirit. We accomplish this by instruction that is geared towards your growth as a leader, and practical in-depth teachings that relate to your course of study, while inspiring you to dig into the treasures of the Word of God for yourself.

Character – the foundation of any great work in the Kingdom of God is the building of the person, rather than the work itself. Ralph Waldo Emerson said, “Every great institution is the lengthened shadow of a single man. His character determines the character of his organization.” FLSOM is a school built on character principles found in the Word of God, which will reproduce itself in great men and women of God who will be challenged to be people of integrity, honor, loyalty, and diligence. Wisdom is our shared goal; character is our foundation.

Excellence – academic excellence is essential on both sides of the lectern. Our job is to provide you with anointed instructors who will teach the Word with conviction and passion. Your job is to respond in kind, by being a model student to your peers; a person who has a desire to give God their very best, as He gave us His very best, His only Son, Jesus Christ. We will do the very best with that which God has blessed us, and we expect you to do the same. •    Passion – the world needs more people that are passionate about their God! We are passionate about turning out world-changers; people who have zeal for God, and for the lost. An unquenchable desire to be in the presence of God will transform you and the world around you. Your commitment to fulfilling these principals will result in an enjoyable, faith filled experience in the time you spend at FLSOM. You will leave this school ready to fulfill the destiny that God has ordained for you, and enter into the work of the ministry with confidence and preparedness.

Our Graduates

Our graduates have gone on to do missions, plant churches, become chaplains, and be a blessing by serving in the local church. Whatever God has called you to do, we are here to help train you from the pulpit to the pew.
